Fearless AF: New Beginnings, No Regrets

John Pierpont "J.P." Morgan said, "The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide you're not going to stay where you are." In a world where routine often becomes our comfort zone, there comes a time when we must heed the call of our dreams and embark on a journey of fearless transformation. With that being said, I have dedicated 11 years to a wonderful company, Rocket Mortgage. I started as an Administrative Assistant and worked my way up to be an FHA & VA Certified Refinance Underwriter. Along the way, I have met some amazing people and created everlasting friendships, but I decided that it was time to say goodbye. It was time to put my mental health first and take a break from this 9-5 world. Let’s dive into this journey.

The Breaking Point

As you may know, the mortgage industry has started to take a turn in the other direction. Interest rates are steadily increasing, and people aren’t looking to refinance at this time. With that, business has started to slow down. Being in the industry for 11 years, I have experienced this before, but this time, it was different for me. This time, I was nervous and worried about whether I would have a job, if there would be a round of layoffs, and if I would be included. There were too many “what ifs” for me. I also was embarking on a new journey creating Sincerely Supermom. I really wanted to focus on developing and growing my business. So when Rocket Mortgage offered a volunteer separation package, I decided to take the leap and take it.

Embracing the Fear

I debated this decision for days before I even talked to my husband about it. There were so many questions I asked myself. How would we survive without my income? How quickly would I have to look for another job? Could we survive while I grow and fully invest in Sincerely Supermom? Is it worth potentially having to start over? I was freaking out. I said yeah, let’s do it, I said no, let’s wait for the market to change. Once I had it set in my brain that we could do it. I crunched numbers, talked to my husband about it, and he said it was time. This was the opportunity we needed to get things off the ground. Take this break to develop and grow your business, and in the worst-case scenario, you just have to go back to work. That was all I needed to hear. I needed confirmation that I can do this!!

Turning Passion into Action

I created Sincerely Supermom because, as a full-time working mother and wife, there was so much to be done and just not enough time in the day. I felt I had a great handle on it and wanted to spread that same knowledge to the world. I wanted mothers to feel empowered to navigate their busy lives being moms, wives, employees, business owners, chefs, teachers, etc. I didn’t feel like I could give my all to this while working a 9-5, but I was determined to figure it out. I also enjoy crafting, creating T-shirts, decorating houses, helping people develop a financial plan, and getting organized. These are things that I am super passionate about and want to build even further.

Crafting a Life of No Regrets

My last working day with Rocket Mortgage was July 25, 2023. So far, it has not settled in that I am no longer working for the company. It feels like I am on an extended vacation or leave of absence. I can say that I feel more at ease, and I am looking forward to growing and reaching so many moms in the world. I am going to enjoy this time with my family and enjoy being a full-time stay-at-home mom for as long as I can. I am very confident that I can find another job if need be, but I am going to remain positive that everything happens for a reason, and this all aligned so that I can do great things in the world. Be sure to subscribe and follow me on this journey. More updates to come…
